My lovely dearest cupcake doodle had a birthday. Again. I guess birthdays work like that. This year I managed to surprise him. It was a miracle. A couple of weeks before his birthday, I got his family to gather at a restaurant for dinner. He thought we were just going out, just he and I, but, SURPRISE! His whole fam was there. It was pretty fun planning it and actually executing the plan without him catching on. I couldn't believe he didn't realize something was up when I was madly texting his sister, Chantel, because I was lost and couldn't find the restaurant.
Randon: Why don't we just go to Chili's? You love Chili's.
Me: Um...well...nah. Ew. Sick. Chili's. No. Lets find somewhere else.
Randon: Well how about Cafe Rio?
Me: Nah...lets try something new. Like isn't there a restaurant...kinda like a bbq place somewhere around here?
Randon: I don't know. Who are you texting so much? Aren't we supposed to be on a date?
Me: Texting? Who is texting? I'm not texting. Um... really I swear there is a place called like... I don't know... Texas Roadhouse or something?
Randon: Yeah, that's a place but I don't know if there is one around here. Hey you want something new, let's just try this Thai food place.
Me: Noooooooooooooooooo!
Randon: Wo. Wo. Okay. Fine. Well, I think we've seen all of our options. So...lets just turn around.
Me: Yes! Turn around! And go left! Ah! SEE!? There it is!!! I knew there was one around here!
....and so on. And he still never got it. It was pretty fun. And his sister Shana was gracious enough to invite everyone over after for cake and ice cream. Don't worry though, I was a slacker and forgot my camera, so I don't have pictures.
On his actual birthday we had a pretty low key celebration at home. We had dinner and eclair cake and watched the awesome Sherlock Holmes.
The birthday boy

Easton wanted to be in on the action. And there is that trademark "smile" of his.

So exciting...
(he was pretty bummed when he was informed that the presents were not for him.)

The disappointment was gone when he discovered the candy for the movie and decided to be in charge of standing by it. And eating it of course!

Happy Birthday, Randon! We love you!
***Edited for Niesha's comment...this was so funny I can't believe I forgot!
"You forgot the part when he got on the saddle and the waiter announced that this is "Randy and he wishes he was 21!!" Classic!"
Hahahahahaha! Thanks for reminding me Niesh!! Ahhhh...who doesn't want to ride a saddle at their birthday dinner?
