Easton's Little Shadow

The results are in...Easton is definitely the favorite. Bella follows and supervises everything he does. I was sure she was somewhere in the house pooping so I was frantically searching for her and found her snoozing with Easton under his crib.
Ah we love Bella and she is very fun to have around. However, I'm having a hard time adjusting to puppy life. She still poops everywhere and I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but Easton is going to be all over the carpet soon...what if he gets sick? We are trying to keep her in her kennel more and let her out so she'll go outside, in fact she's yelping at me from there right now. If that wasn't enough, she has managed to claw a tear in my new leather couch and finds the smallest scrap of paper and proceeds to make it even smaller by shredding it into a million gazillion pieces. Argh! Am I just not cut out for the indoor puppy? Does it get better? Advice? Luckily she's pretty dang cute. :)

Pretty much the cutest cowboy you've ever seen. He's falling right into place to be daddy's little buckaroo. It was so funny, he loved playing with this hat!

My Baby is Growing Up!

Easton just had his nine month well check. He is nine months old! What?! I can't believe it. I am loving this age and just trying to savor each moment. So...he weighs 21 1/2 pounds. Not as much as we thought. He is only in the 60th percentile for his weight, not what you'd expect when you look at those cute chubby cheeks. Alas, his head circumference is in the 95th percentile, still has a huge noggin! He is healthy and is developing right on schedule. Guess who is trying to walk? Yes. Easton. Is he crawling? No. He'll be on all fours and roll right over. Not interested. We spend all day with him holding our finger to balance and trotting all around the room. He's taken a few steps alone and can stand unassisted for a little bit. Of course with Easton being my first, I have to be paranoid about everything and have heard crawling is so crucial to brain development but the doc said many babies skip crawling. He was so brave and didn't cry when they pricked his heel, luckily we didn't have any shots this time. The only thing giving me grief is his skin. He has little bumps all over his cheeks, which come to find out are eczema. We are still trying the steroid cream she gave us, anyone else know of other things that might help? I've tried all sorts of creams and lotions. Oh well, he doesn't seem to mind. I need to be better at posting the little day to day changes in my little boy. He is growing up so fast. Anyone who knows him knows he is a flirt! He'll smile and be friendly with anyone. He is developing a little bit of stranger anxiety, but he'll still give anyone a little squinty smile. He is a man of a million faces. He comes up with the funniest facial expressions. He has mastered clapping which he is very happy about, worked pretty hard on that one. He is starting to wave goodbye and point at things. He loves bath time and swimming. Getting pretty good at tossing a ball and trying to kick it. He is being a Grandma's boy lately. Don't care if Mom's around if Grandma is there. Of course Grandma loves that. He loves it when Daddy chases and tickles him and always wants to chill with Dad in the mornings. We are so lucky to have such an easy going little guy. He is my world! I love him so much and I'm so glad I get to be his mom and feel blessed that I'm able to stay home with him. This is at the Mt. Pleasant parade on the fourth. Easton was happy to chew on the wrapper of his candy. Mmm. We had fun with Randon's family and went up the canyon for lunch and spent the evening at my Grandma Spiers house .

Meet Bella!

I am so weak. Several of Randon's family members have little shih tzu's. I always thought they were cute but didn't really think we'd ever have one because Randon of course wants a Lab to go hunting with. Then I fell in love with Shana's new puppy who conveniently had a sister. Dona has a few and breeds the cute little things. After begging Randon and giving him the shpill of "I'll take care of her and feed her and walk her!!" (I hope I can handle a puppy!), we had her at home! I have no idea what I'm doing, I've only ever lived with outside dogs. But she is adorable and we are having fun! Its so cute to watch her bound up and down the stairs and fun to have a cute little fluff ball follow you everywhere. Easton loves the her and she always wants to play with him. He'll humor it for a bit then just start pushing her away, its pretty funny. Of course Bella likes Randon the most. Go figure. He still wants his Lab and informs me that Easton will get one for his birthday in October. Sweet. The more the merrier I guess!

Fun in the Sun!

I couldn't wait to see Easton experience a little swimming. He LOVES bath time and I figured he would like a pool. I remember loving going swimming at the Riverton public pool but now thinking of taking Easton there gives me the heebie jeebies. I'm sure its clean but you never know... anyway I figured the next best thing was a kiddie pool, since my parents just won't put a real pool in their backyard. My littlest sister Abbey was telling me she thought Dad should just take a shovel out there and start digging and get some tiles and grout stuff. Yeah Dad, why not? Anyway I got a kiddie pool at good old Walmart. We set it up and it works pretty well, besides the fact that its barely big enough for Easton alone! He loves it though! We set it up in my mom's back yard since its all nice and grassy and secluded in case I dare to get into my swimming attire. Today Abbey got her swimming suit on to squeeze in the pool with him. We didn't have all day for the water to warm up, so it was a little chilly, but once Easton warmed up to it he was all about the splashing! Fun, fun! Now if I can just manage to keep him protected from and out of the sun and get myself a tan at the same time, that would be ideal... Anyway, a pretty sweet set up...not exactly Raging Waters, but Easton loves it! I see many water days ahead at Grammy's!

3 Joys: My awesome hot hubby and my sweet son and the rest of my family, a good book (Randon probably wouldn't classify this as a joy as if I am lost in a book, its hard to do anything else!), and...boating!

3 Fears: Being home at night without Randon out in the boonies where no one could hear me scream, calling people (seriously. its a real phobia. don't ask me why.), me or anyone I love getting hurt or more specifically burned really bad, after hearing what Randon had to go through.

3 Short Term Goals: I WILL get a rock hard bod and get into a better habit of working out, be better at planning menus for healthy meals and actually cooking, and as always improve my testimony.

3 Current Obsessions: Decorating my house, blogging (haven't been very good about it lately), Redbox (I love renting movies, especially for $1, that is when I remember to take them back the next day...)

3 Surprising Facts: Hmmm...surprising? Like...I used to be a man? Haha. Um...I've never broken a bone, gotten a cavity or stitches...wait, unless you count when I had Easton...woooo doggie that hurt.  I think I've seen every episode of King of Queens, I know to some that isn't surprising. And....I'm pregnant. 7 Weeks. Ha. Just kidding. Okay last one. Boogers gross me out BIG time. I would rather have Easton barf all over me and change 100 poopy diapers then see a big green slimy (I just threw up a little) booger on his cheek. Ew!

UVUphoria!

My friend Jenny was kind enough to call me on Monday to say she had an extra ticket to a concert featuring Josh Gracin, Collin Raye and Joe Nichols. I always have fun with that group of girls so I was in! Randon and Easton had a boys night while I went with Jenny, Traci, Erin and Kylie.  So we leave at six to get to UVU by seven. We were about a mile away from the exit when we hit the traffic of every other student and their friends going to the  concert and sat there for like an hour. We didn't know, but this was the kick off for the change to Utah Valley University, and everyone could get tickets for like $5. It was held on the baseball field and it was PACKED. By the time we finally made it onto the field we had missed Josh Gracin. It was so much fun though. We found a nice little spot on the grass where we could kick off our shoes and dance around and be silly like we did in high school. We loved Collin Raye, it made us feel old though, Kylie being younger didn't know any of the songs, but we sang along to almost every one. Joe Nichols was awesome and at the very end we fought our way close to the stage to dance. Fun times! It was fun to hang with the girls! Thanks for letting me come! Film credit goes to my phone. Its so great, you can't even see anything. Its the thought that counts though, right?
