Agent P!

Last Saturday, we took a little break from cleaning to take some pictures with Agent P from Phineas and Ferb! I thought it turned out hilarious. I didn't even know what I was doing and when I looked closer when we were done, I am definitely getting a beat down. And even funnier, if you look closely, E is trying to make the same face as Perry in every picture.Ha! Love that boy! 

 

Then the other day, we were in Old Navy and Easton found an "Agent P hat"! Hahaha. He really reeeeeeally wanted it. He would make a great super spy agent. 

Flying with Dad!

Easton got to go flying the other day and it was awesome! Mom was a little nervous at first, but I realized he would be with the best pilot in the world. :)  E was so excited, it was fun to watch.

The plane is just a two seater so I got to stay on the ground and imagine the fun. :) And this might be the cutest thing I've ever seen....

They had so much fun! Easton said he was such a great helper flying the plane and he would push the button so that Dad could talk on the radio. He said his favorite part was being up really really high in the sky. :) I'm so glad E got to experience that fun time with his Dad!

Elder Rasmussen

We said farewell to my dear brother at the beginning of this month. He will be serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We are so excited for him and he couldn't wait to get out there. Easton loves Uncle Bobo and I'm so thankful for the wonderful example he is setting for my little guy. Braiden is one of Easton's favorite people, I think one of his favorite things was to wrestle with him. The week before he left, Braiden took E to the movie theater to see Cars 2. So fun!

We had a good time spending time with the family before he left. The night before he left, he was set apart. It was such a neat experience. The stake president told Easton that he had a special job, to be Braiden's companion until he left. He took it quite seriously and didn't leave his side except to go home to bed. The next day he had to ride with him and be right by him. So sweet.

We went to lunch and then to the Provo temple to say our goodbyes. All the husbands couldn't get out of work so it was just the good old fam.

It was kind of crazy saying goodbye. I have said goodbye to friends in the past, but this was different. It is crazy to think when he gets home that Easton will almost be 6 and Little Mister will almost be 2. We love him so much and just want him to succeed and be happy. It is so great to hear from him and know that he is doing well. Easton misses him and asks almost nightly when Bobo will be back. And he never fails to mention him during his prayers. We ♥ him and wish him the best!

On July 4th, we headed down the annual Mt. Pleasant parade. Easton was so excited. One of his favorite things was when we would be eating breakfast at home and hear the high school marching band out practicing. We would run out on the patio and watch them march on by. He was stoked to learn he could see one up close and personal at the parade. And of course, the candy. He was looking forward to getting lots of candy. In fact, he told me he had to wear his Lightning McQueen underwear so he could run extra fast to get more candy.

 The parade started out with the loud firetrucks. 

So this is how E enjoyed the beginning of the parade.

 Once the noise quieted down a little, he was out with his cousins and Aunt Chantel to get the loot. He was very spoiled being the only little cousin there, he had many helpers catching candy for him.

 He ended up with way too much candy. But he was a happy boy. And it was hot. Oh so hot.

We then went with the Russell fam to a pavilion to have a little BBQ and the blessed clouds rolled in for a little coolness and it was lovely. Easton got to run and play and ride the wheeler with Dad. And E was very excited to say at the BBQ was the first time he peed standing up. So proud.

After the Russell family fun, we headed to my parents house for snaps and sparkler fun.

I then started asking for poses. Braiden and his friend Cami doing a Harry Potter reenactment.

I asked Braiden (who is leaving on his mission TOMORROW) to do a pose and this is what I get. Weirdo.

Finally it got dark enough and Easton got to enjoy watching fireworks (I like the legal ariels...we can just watch everyone else's. haha)  and the rest of the sparklers.

And I pulled a dorky mom moment and had to have a family portrait of us all smiling and holding a sparkler. Like that is a totally natural thing that we would do.

4th decor on the cheap.

I decided I wanted some festive-ness for the 4th in our home but I didn't have anything. This is what I came up with. I ended up using cute paper for most of my projects. Cute and cheap! 

Easy pinwheels and paper in a frame with some scrabble tiles. Fun.

I'm really loving the subway art trend. I put this together in Microsoft Publisher. Easy peasy.

I found this vintage postcard image online. Printed it out. Voila. Styrofoam balls are covered with strips of paper secured with straight pins.

Eh. I saw this idea online. Mine didn't turn out as cute. Oh well. Cheap. Great northern beans, red beans and black beans (that look navy) layered for a flag effect.

More cute paper stuff! I don't know what to call these. Fans? Sure. And a tin from the Target dollar spot. Gotta love it! (By my family rules subway-ish art. I might be obsessed with the stuff.) :)

Hooray for a little red, white and blue to liven things up! We are sure looking forward to the holiday weekend...hope yours is wonderful!
