a typical bedtime conversation.

Scene: We are laying on the floor by Easton's crib per his request after our night time ritual of scriptures and prayers followed by kisses, hugs and highfives. Yes. Highfives. Easton came up with that one himself. We listen in the dark as Easton tells Daddy about the tiny plates and spoons and cups he played with that day...

Easton:   Maybe tomorrow we can have a tea party!
Randon: Um, no. Boys don't have tea parties. Boys have barbeques. (We have many manly rules around here. Boys don't paint their nails and they certainly don't have purses. They have bags.)

Easton: Boys have barbeques?
Randon: Yes, boys have barbeques. Girls can come too.
Easton: Girls have tea parties?
Randon: Yes.
Easton: So... girls have tea parties?
Randon & I: Yes buddy.
Easton: Me and you can have a barbeque, right Daddy?
Randon: We sure can, bud.
Easton: Wait. Girls have tea parties? And boys have barbeques?
Randon & I: Yep.
Easton: Why?
Randon: Just because that's what they like to do.
Easton: Oh.
**Long pause**  Randon and myself think that maybe he is finally asleep.
Easton: So... girls have tea parties?

Hahaha thats hilarious Jess. It is good to hear that will not be the only household that has "Manly" rules. Wiley's family is just like that so it is good that our kids will have a mutual understanding. :)
